GFEI is owned and operated by the Gitxsan Chiefs whose traditional territory encompasses
nearly 33,000 square kilometers of mature boreal forests in the north western region of British Columbia, Canada
The
forest tenure is located in the Kispiox Timber Supply Area (TSA) between Smithers in the east, Terrace in the west, and
the headwaters of the Skeena river to the North, Highway 16 and Canadian National Rail's northern line runs through the
region.
GFEI's timber is shipped out of the nearest ports in the region:
Kitimat Port, Port of Prince Rupert and Stewart, British Columbia.
The head office is
located in Hazelton, British Columbia at 1525 Omineca Street, in the Village of Hazelton (Old Hazelton).
